LoneMiners - a Minecraft server!
IP: LoneMiners.com:2595
New: Sorry about all that downtime! We moved to a new host, and it took about a week to transfer the Gigs upon Gigs of data!! We're back to normal now, though!
Information on the server~
This is a hardcore PvP server. It's a 1.2.5 server, as of this time of writing; running on Bukkit. It's plugins include:
Factions
,
McMMO
,
RuneCraft
, Essentials, an unprotected player based shop plugin, some anti cheating plugins, and a toggable global chat channel system (so you don't have to deal with the constant chatter of the server).
-Factions-
This is a plugin that allows members to group up. You can create a faction/clan/guild, and build, hunt, survive, and raid together! There is a more detailed explination of how Factions works at the spawn point in-game.
For those of you who understand Factions already; here is the list of protected items. Take note that chests are NOT protected here!
1) Stone Pressure Plates
2) Levers
Basically, this means that you can make an iron door with either a STONE pad or a lever to open it; this leaves wooden doors vulnerable for anyone to walk into; and wood pads for traps.
For those of you unfamiliar with factions, here's a small breakdown:
Factions are groups of teammates, working together to dominate the server. Larger factions normally thrive the best. Though Larger factions =/= a better faction. Yes, factions include protected lands, but there are tons of ways around the protection. Figuring them out is part of the fun.
-McMMO-
This is a mod that grants perks to those who play more often. I've removed the combat perks, as to keep the game more fair; but I have kept in the other perks.
What king of perks? Well in this mod: You level up stats. Stats can be found with "/stats". Most perks include a higher chance of getting double or even tripple drops. Sometimes you'll even get an extra block or item, depending on what block was broken with what tool.
More information on McMMO is located in-game at the spawn.
-RuneCraft-
Runecraft allows players to build special patters, or runes, which will have magical effects.
The most 'famous' runes are the Waypoint/Teleporter runes, and the Chrono Trigger. Waypoint and Teleporter runes do just what they say, they are teleporters. They are made using a 'signature' within the rune, which dictates what teleporter leads to what waypoint. Of course, these are unprotected, so be careful where you build your teleporters if you have a waypoint at your house.
Chrono Trigger gives the players the ability to control time. Though it is a resource hungry rune to initially make, it only consumes one redstone dust with each use.
There are tons of more runes, too.
There are examples in-game, near the spawn point, of some of these runes and how they work.

Challenges/DungeonBuilder
-
This one is our 'latest' mod to the server. Before, I had a little teleport hub setup so that players could try out challenges, and then I'd reward them. We're using DungeonBuilder now, so now things like rewards are automatic; but I have changed up a few things quite a bit.
For starters, you will have to actually find the challenges now. Think of it as a giant dungeon hunt. They are all VERY far from the spawn area; the major que to look for is a giant bedrock cube floating in the sky somewhere. There is normally a staircase or something that leads into it.
Rewards are given automatically for completing each dungeon. Some dungeons are actual dungeon crawlers, while others are massive platformers. I haven't had any DISLIKE them yet; aside from a few kiddies after some idiot posted our server on Planet Minecraft (Thank god, everyone at the time drove them away)
Anyways, this is a highlight of our server, so I'd recommend trying them out.
Whether you like the server or not, at least try out the challenges. I haven't had a single person NOT like them, aside from some babbies from Planet Minecraft that logged on once whining that they 'can't jump right' or something.

SignShops
-
This plugin is for having a player-based shop system, a global economy (running with iConomy and Vault). Here is how it works:
Step 1) Create a sign using the appropriate format
Step 2) Put the type and amount of item you want to sell in a chest, the chest DOES NOT have to be anywhere near the sign!!
Step 3) Use redstone to link the sign to the shop, and then fill the chest with the full stock of items being sold.
And it's that easy! To protect your shops, simply claim it with the Factions mod. But, you have to remember that your stuff can still be TNT'd. So be careful! Smart design and location are key to being able to run a shop near spawn.
We also have a Steam group!
People in the Steam group LoneMiners are the first to know when something is wrong with the server. Also, since the server is entirely community ran, you can throw some suggestions in the group chat room. Be sure to join this group if you own Steam and plan on playing on our server long-term.
Like the server? Plan on staying? Why not donate to help keep it running!
We'd like donations from those who would like to see the server up and running. Don't expect "pay to win" garbage for donators, like on other servers. And if you want to keep it even more "hardcore," request NOT to be added as a donator in-game.
In order to donate, you have to type in /donate in-game.
Doing so will give you a link after selecting how much you want to donate. Your permissions will be granted automatically. You can donate more than once, but current you will keep the same perks, regaurdless of how many times you donate.
Here is a list of commands for donators:
-/tpa ---------Allows you to ask to teleport to another player. They can /tpaccept or /tpdeny
-/sethome ----Allows you to set your home anytime, without a bed.
-/home --------Allows you to port home anytime, without having to use feathers or die!
-/warp --------(you can warp 2K in any direction from the spawn point!)
+Colored text (Example: Saying "&2implications" would read as "
implications
")
+Anything else that the community seems would be good donation perks!
+the happy feeling that your server won't go down next month!
Note that all of the teleport commands have both cooldowns and warm ups!! (Hopefully this will shut up the babies that say that people can just warp out of a fight if they donate..Because that's NOT TRUE)
Ranking us up on different sites would be kind, too!
